Who We Are

We are a group of professionals from Guatemala, Argentina, and the United States interested in and focused on supporting families who are experiencing rough times due to grief that results from a loss. We utilize best practices, including the principles of Thanatology as taught by Dr. Elisabeth Kübler Ross and Logotherapy of Viktor Frankl, to compassionately accompany families, and to guide them in their search for meaning and inner peace.

“Vínculos de Amor,” or “Remember Me,” was created in Guatemala in 2024 by thanatologist Luis Fernando Sandoval Samayoa, and was conceived to address the implications of the inadequate way that society approaches the loss of children lost at birth or prior to birth. Unfortunately, most of these losses are currently ignored and are often not talked about, in the hope that they will soon be forgotten.

However, we know that grief must be confronted, as this program does, by providing comprehensive support to families through proven strategies.

Our program guides families to discover their unique and individual path, in order to find purpose in their lives, and to address -and hopefully transform- their deep individual pain and sorrow.

We intend to dramatically alter the service industry, especially our industry that focuses on the care that is provided in death, by taking concrete and helpful actions. We offer changes to historic processes and the way things have been done in the past to make them more humane, which will serve to make a profound difference in the lives of families who are experiencing loss.

In order to earn the trust of families, we know that principles and values must be applied that correctly place the main focus on their benefit rather than ours, and be driven by faith in Almighty God.
